This time, something rather Gothic : a rather unusual vampyr romance with exotic settings and a Byzantine connection.
Prepare to curl up with the first in a trilogy called ‘The Marchwood Vampire Series . . .
What’s being said on Amazon :
” . . . I just couldn’t put it down. I loved the combination of the past and the present intertwined with mystery and romance and downright spookiness! I can’t wait to read the sequel.” ” . . . I absolutely loved this. In fact Edward Cullen and Alexandre (from Hidden) are toughing it out for top spot on my bookshelf as i am writing this. It’s beautiful, dark and richly gothic, and dead creepy too . . .” “I loved this book. It had everything I want from a novel. There’s so much edge of the seat suspense and the story takes you to unexpected and original places . . . I’m not a young adult, but it was a great read which I think both teens and adults will love. “ Click on the book cover below to read the opening extract :
From the description on Amazon :
“HIDDEN is a paranormal romance that spans the centuries from modern London to 19th century Paris and ancient Cappadocia.
Sixteen-year-old Madison Greene is in foster care until one day she inherits a fortune, she inherits a house, she inherits a cellar full of danger. Eighteen-year-old Alexandre lives in 19th century Paris. On an archaeological expedition he discovers a lost underground city where his life changes forever.
For each of them, life is finally starting. Little do they know it is closer to ending. Something lies buried which should have been forgotten. A Pandora’s Box that was meant to stay shut. But Madison and Alexandre have never been any good at following the rules. They are about to find everything they’ve ever desired and everything that could destroy them.
Falling in love has never been so dangerous.”
Where did the idea for HIDDEN come from ?
I’ve always wanted to write a vampire book, but never had a strong enough idea. Then one day I read a story in the paper about a family who had to move out of their house as they had 150 bats nesting in their roof. They said it was like living in Dracula’s castle. I had a light bulb moment and thought: Bats in the attic? – What about vampires in the basement? . . . .

What others are saying about HIDDEN :
REVIEW for “HIDDEN” by Ellen Fritz
“As the first book in the Marchwood Vampire series, “Hidden” is the perfect introduction to a new series. The author masterfully balances captivating storytelling, adventure and tender moments throughout the story. Often you will ask yourself who you should trust and who not as some secrets are diligently kept for a surprise ending
There are a rather large number of important characters in “Hidden”. Introduced and developed in such a skillful manner, there is no danger of the reader getting them confused. Although the narrative switches back and forth between events in modern day England and the back story in the nineteenth century, I found it easy to keep track of and understand where I was in the story. The vivid and detailed descriptions of nineteenth century France and Turkey makes you feel as though you are there, experiencing the events along with the archaeologists and their families. From the underground city in ancient Cappadocia to rural England, we are taken on an unforgettable journey of adventure, suspense and romance.
The author takes the necessary time to create a believable and realistic background for the existence and very nature of her characters. She allows the characters to grow as the tale progresses: Maddy from a rebellious unhappy foster-care teenager into a responsible young adult and Alexandre Chevalier from a thoughtless Parisian socialite into a man who takes his duties towards his friends and family seriously . . .”
